Studio of Spatial Activities

Shape the space around you knowing that It will repay you.

The Studio of Spatial Activities was created at the Faculty of Multimedia Communication at the Academy of Fine Arts in Poznań. It was set up as part of a transformation of the Studio of Sculpture Transplantation of the Faculty of Artistic Education, which was formed from the Studio of Open Sculpture, which was started in 2003 by Miroslaw Balka. Since its conception the studio has been co-led by assistants: Ewa Bone (2003-2004), Katarzyna Krakowiak (2004-2007), Karolina Kubik (2010-2013), Anna Jochymek (2013-2015) and Zuza Golińska (2015-2018).

Since 2011 the studio operates from the Faculty of Media Art at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw.

The main aim of the Studio of Spacial Activities is to make an attempt to recognize and creatively shape the spaces in which we move and act. For its activities, the studio moves beyond the Academy grounds, paying attention to social and political problems that exist in the world around us. Students explore their cultural sensitivity, while looking for an artistic identity. By defining their place and exchanging their views with representatives of other places, students draw their own spheres of communication.

Interaction of the group, creating the possibilities of coacting and cooperation.
Discussion as part of making a creative statement and creating a world-view.
Improvement of concentration, rejection of inhibitions connected to artistic activity.
Awakening of the creative attitude towards the world and yourself, increasing the level of self-acceptance.
Determining ones creativity.
Developing a sensitivity towards space.
Acquiring practical skills and efficiency to be used in the process of creating.
Learning to recognize other artistic attitudes through meetings with guests of the studio.
Establishing a sense of beauty and esthetic fragility, expanding interests.
Becoming sensitive towards fellow human beings and otherness.
Expanding interpersonal skills and solving problems mutually.
Supporting development and forming a correct cultural personality.
Understanding oneself and the social world.
Carrying responsibility for the accomplished task.
