The action’s aim is to implement a replacement-word for the stigmatising term “refugee” into the space of language. By using various social and mass media, I have attempted to broadcast the officially non-existing (up to now) noun “nowak”, which at the same time functions as the homonym of the most common surname in Poland. Surfing on the wave of media, including the appearance in Słownik polsko-polski TV programme (“Polish-Polish Dictionary”), numerous radio broadcasts, interviews for newspapers and internet blogs, the word is still implement into the everyday language.
Master degree work was presented on 67 TV screens in the Shopping Mall Złote Tarasy in the city centrum in Warsaw during International World Newcomers Day (20 june).
